  • assessment of the functional capacity and work ability as well as the rehabilitation needs of patients therapy aimed at improving and maintaining functional capacity and other
  • necessary measures
  • assistive device services

Medical rehabilitation services can be accessed with a referral from a public health physician and based on an assessment completed by a nurse or therapist. The need for medical rehabilitation and the goals and contents thereof are defined in a personalised rehabilitation plan.

Customer fees are charged for medical rehabilitation in accordance with the Act on Client Charges in Healthcare and Social Welfare.

Assistive device services

The most common assistive devices, such as walkers and shower stools, can be borrowed from the assistive devices units of local health centres or from the regional assistive device centre.

More intricate assistive devices, such as electronic mobility aids and seeing or hearing aids, can be obtained from specialised medical care services.
