International operations support the strategic objectives of the City of Salo in view of internationalisation. Whether the goal is attracting new residents, achieving the objectives of industrial policy, or increasing awareness of Salo at a global level, the international operations are contributing to these goals to ensure that Salo remains a notable international contender in the fierce competition between cities. The City of Salo uses international marketing and general advocacy work to attract new residents and companies also from abroad. The international operations spread the word far and wide, declaring that Salo is an excellent domicile for both companies and experts. Moreover, Salo also wants to be an attractive destination for foreign students and is using education export to draw in students from abroad, especially from Asia.

Salo’s global reputation as a top location for IT excellence and industry is an invaluable asset in attracting international experts and companies.
