Civil defence shelters
In emergency situations, people living in rural areas, single-family houses, and housing cooperatives without a civil defence shelter must find shelter on their own. The City of Salo has no public civil defence shelters.
The general instructions are that when you hear the general alarm signal, you must immediately go indoors and close the doors, windows, and ventilation systems. More information on finding shelter indoors, the 72-hour home emergency supplies, and other means of preparing for disruptions and emergency situations can be found on the website of the Southwest Finland Emergency Services.
If the use of civil defence shelters is required, the municipality can also evacuate the residents that have no access to a civil defence shelter from the danger zone. The authorities will provide information on the evacuation of areas.
